Assignment 2-1984

This advertisement has had an important success in most countries. This ad shows how the American society relies on its consumer industry which can have a life style impact on their daily living. As mentioned in class, 1984 has been a year among the intense years in which the revolution and up-rising were very recurrent activities performed by the society. The producer of the ad combines the date 1984 which is suppose to represent a major change to take place with the introduction the apple. Somehow this synergy indicates to the reader how important is the apple introduction and how much effect it will have on the society. From my perspective I deducted that introduction the apple will revolutionarize the society in a way that would free them from dominance by giving an open access to the world of technology. This association is very strong and effective because it not attracts the audience attention but influence their behavior. The consumer for this ad is being consumed by the apple industry.

Assignment 1

As mentioned in the website, this ad has been funded by amnesty organization and vehicles a strong message to the public. The picture reminds the walking people that attrocities do happen in the rest of the world although they happen far away. The message does reach the people since it is located in a place where walker's traffic is dense and where all type of people from diverse status can meet. This is one of the intent of the ad, try to target the maximum people from all types. But let us now analyze the picture its self. The picture portrays a scene that may take place in either a metro station or a mall. In the center of the picture we can see a picture of violence taking place with a small message on top of the picture that says "It is not happening here". In front of the picture we can see a man holding with his hands three little kids (probably his) and whose attention is grasped by the picture. This suggests how attracting is the picture. This picture can be called a self speaking picture.
